I guess I will give a quick run down on my life. I hope everyone will share what they have been up to since we graduated in 1988.
In 1988, I ended up going to Tyler Jr. College for a whole 3 days. My parents informed me that my father was going to be stationed in Seoul, South Korea. I dropped out of school and went to Korea. I loved it there for a year, and it really prepared me to be on my own.
In 1989, I returned to Texas and attended Panola College in Carthage, TX. Loved it there. During this time I would marry my husband at the time Terry in 1990. I would find out I was pregnant during my second year at Panola in 1991. I would transfer colleges in the summer of 1991, and attend Stephen F. Austin State University for fall classes. I would go all the way up to my 8th month of pregnancy. I would have Stephanie Mahinalani January 1992. She is my pride and joy as we speak. I would be a stay at home for two years and return to SFA to 1994 and graduate with a degree in teaching the Spring of 1996.
Spring of 1996, I would divorce my husband Terry and move to Houston. Hoping for a job in teaching. I ended up working at a daycare facility from 1996 to 1998. I realized I was ready to move home(Hawaii) and just be around family. Stephanie and I would make the trek to Honolulu. Another one of my good decisions. I would get a teaching position in Special Education teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I would teach English, Math, Hawaiian Studies, American History. This teaching job would be and still is the best job I had. While in Hawaii, CyFair school district called me to see if I would be interested in interviewing for a position. I said yes, Stephanie a
nd I would move back to Houston. I would get the job. Yeah!
Fall of 2000 I would start my teaching position at Arnold Middle School as a 6th grade reading teacher. I loved this job and still do. During this time, I coached volleyball and basketball. I was assistant cross country coach and track coach.
After 8 years as a single mom, I would marry for the second and last time Scott. We were married in 2004 in Tomball Texas. I actually had a wedding this time. In 2005 I would find out I am pregnant, but my daughter Stephanie did not adjust to it well, and decided she wanted to live with her dad. After many months of crying and lawyer fees we were able to get that settled.
June 15, 2006, I would have a bouncing baby boy. Donovan Kapukawai McGuire-Abel. He is a joy to my life. I adore him and my daughter Stephanie completely. He will be celebrating his 1st birthday in a few weeks.
I am still living in Cypress, which is right outside of Houston. I am hoping we have a reunion and get to see some of my friends that I have lost touch with. The only person I really talk to right now is Greta Rice (Smith) I hope she will post on here, but I wouldn't hold my breathe. I do email Pim Collier(Phillips).
